Brooke Black, MNA

operations + Content Manager

Brooke worked throughout the nonprofit sector for years before entering the charter school world with wide-eyes, privileged ignorance, and an open-heart for children. As an administrator, she wore many hats and continued to gain momentum in and passion for philanthropy. Here, she recognized her desire to work with populations and communities disparately impacted by policy, the need for racial equity among our children (and adults), and her ability to connect organizations serving those  populations to the resources necessary to reduce inequity. Brooke remains active in St. Louis Charter Schools as the development chair at The Leadership School.

In a messy and beautiful twist of events, Brooke became a mother to three and decided to serve the city in a more dynamic fashion - by joining Gladiator Consulting. Brooke is a connector by nature, and finds joy in building relationships. At Gladiator, she is able to connect with a wider array of St. Louis organizations and continue fighting for equitable wealth distribution while chauffeuring, feeding, and managing a blended family of five. She is fueled by modeling her values to her children - including servitude, humility, and a thirst for continuous learning and listening.

Brooke completed her undergraduate degree in English Communications at University of Missouri St. Louis. She then continued on to earn a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Administration from Lindenwood University, where she sits on the athletic hall of fame with her 2011 Competitive Cheerleading teammates. She is a 2020-2021 FOCUS Impact Alumni and the Founder of blackbear communications, LLC. In her (very little) free time, Brooke likes to garden, host football sundays, read, and hike.
